We have several windows that were installed about 15 years ago which have travel restrictors where the plastic lock to disable the travel restrictor has basically gone brittle and no longer works - or is even there in many cases. Those with them you touch it and it just falls to bits.

So we now have windows that are stuck in the limited lift unless you get 2 people and 1 holds them in the other lifts the sash.

We had a UPVC firm out for something else and they looked at it and said they its not possible to change them - because a) the window needs to come out as they are side fixed and b) they likely wont be able to get an exact replacement so it might look a mess if they try and replace them. Looking at £200-300 per window to fix and it might not look great.

Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking to try and glue them down but again its just going to look a mess. They are polished gold so they look quite nice.

Its the bit circled in red that I need.

Those things are crap and barely work properly when new. You best bet is to wedge them closed with something, that will be hard to notice. A piece of gold washer or black plastic packer.

Yeah I noticed most of them on the market now seem to be fully metal which is better.

These are quite old - but I don't want to pay £1500+ to change them!

I think perhaps some jb weld might be coming out....

They are crap even when brand new, and the little key is pathetic. I’ve never had to change one but can imagine it to be a bit of a ballache. I’ve just fitted some sliders, I’ll have a look at how they are fixed.

It's not very clear what you are after: is the small plastic broken & you are looking for a replacement or are you looking for a retro-fit of the whole assembly?

If it's the plastic part & you can get one out it's possible that you could get a replacement 3D printed.
