Yours!' take loads of photos, they grow up so quickly, my "little" boy is now 23 bless him, and I have absolutely loads of photos of him, including one when we went to a TVR road show, and he snucked off to sit in a lovely green Cerbera, 14 at the time, smashing photo that one.

this was a cpl of years ago... he's now out hotwiring your car!
Err...'scuse me, but whats a CPL?
Hotwiring cars? I can do that....er....I mean....
I love wearing hoodies, they keep your ears nice and warm without wearing a hat, look decent, are nice and comfortable, but everyone thinks you're about to mug them. I was walking out one morning behind this guy, it was quite cold so I put my hood up. The guy turned round, saw me, grabbed his phone off his belt and shoved it in his pocket and started walking quicker. T'was hilarious

megain> Cute shot, but a shame that it's out of focus. Focus on the eyes next time.
Any help apreciated, where do you think i went wrong with the focus?... the image is straight from the camera, not cropped at all. Do you think I was too close, would it have been better to be a bit further away and then crop to get the composition?
Basically just make sure you've focussed, and always on the eyes for a portrait like this. If you have auto focus, check that it's locked on, if manual then just be extra careful. Being so close may have meant that the camera could not lock on, you'll need to check that the camera has focussed before pressing the shutter.

Not wanting to hijack, but it reminds me of this tale
I was at my neighbours BBQ at the begining of the summer and we were still sat outside when it got dark and quite cold and most of us put coats on.
My neighbour is an A&E registrar originally from Trinidad and he said some of his friends were comming round later, something I forgot.
Well it was my turn to go in the house to get drinks and on my way spotted to very suspicious hoody wearing black guys hanging around the front. - I ran round the back to warn by neighbour (checking my back door was locked on the way).
He goes around the front and brings these two guys and introduced them as his doctor friends, one a Heart Surgeon and the other an Optometrist! Boy did I get the p1ss ripped out of me that night (and rightly so)!
Cheers

Had a wee crack at the levels and used the Unsharp Mask in PS7.
Judging by the reflections in the eyes the biggest problem is camera shake, not focus.
How are you deducing that from the reflections? Valid point though, would make sense!
megain>What shutter speed did you shoot at? Below 1/60th takes a steady hand so maybe try shooting again at a faster shutter speed, or use a tripod or flashgun or something?
