My engine is currently running De-CAT, however MOT is looming and I know I need CATs to pass emissions. My old CATs are not looking good, at the last MOT they just scraped through and I feel it is time for some new ones before they start to break up and get sucked back into the engine. Does anyone recommend a CAT and supplier. I see BM CATs advertised and prices range from £100 to £500. The difference being Non-Type Approved and Type approved. They look identical and the photos are the same but big price difference. I'm happy to pay for the more expensive one (better one???) but the issue I have is that these suppliers sell both types. I wouldn't like to suggest that the £500 ones are re-labelled £100 ones but how do you tell ?
Has anyone experience of a reputable supplier who is selling the good ones ?

Are you planning to just use for the MOT and then decat again?

Type approved vs non is based on the age of the vehicle. I think 2001 onwards you are supposed by law to have type approved cats.

Clive F Sports cats.

Just need to know the size of the outlet pipe (inlet is the same across the board).

Emission compliant, more noise, no faffing swapping cats in and out for MOT.

its a 2000 so it doesn't require the type approved, but are they better made ?
