Tape to protect painted wood
Discussion
We are having some new windows fitted soon. I want to protect the existing wood around the area which is painted as it was only painted about 2 years ago.
Whats a good tape to use that will resist stuff being bumped into it but wont lift the paint when I peel it off?
I expect it will be on for 3-4 days.
I have used frog tape before but that took pain off!

I always use Yellow Delicate Surface FrogTape when painting and I haven't found anything better.
It is not perfect and I only remove very slowly and very carefully as in my house a quick rip will pull off paint.
One problem is leaving on a few days and near a window which gets the sun as it may dry out the tape adhesive.

You can get low tack frog tape.Whats a good tape to use that will resist stuff being bumped into it but wont lift the paint when I peel it off?

My thoughts would be to put low tack Frog (or similar) tape around the edges and then stick something more robust onto that? Heavy plastic/card/whatever.
Use the good tape to avoid anything getting stuck to the paint but then fix the proper cover to that tape.
It's something I've done anyway.
Either that or surface protection film which is the proper solution. Especially the thick blue stuff.
