We were migrated onto Zen as a Lit customer.

We've got a Lit supplied Mitrastar Router, MGS4227E-2 and two mesh extenders, Calix Gigaspire Blast.

Does anyone know if we can buy more of these extenders, I can't seem to see them for sale anywhere except ebay, or would the Mitrastar router work with any old mesh extenders?

You wont get anything other than a Calix device to join the same mesh, even if you could buy another Calix device, the ISP manages the mesh stuff and you would need to get them to add it in. I`m sure the ISP will give you more for an extra monthly fee though.

You could replace them with any mesh system and still use the router, though it would be best to disable wifi on the router if you have access to do that.

With Lit there was no additional monthly charge for the mesh, just an up front for the hardware, so I’m loathe to do something via zen if it’ll add to the monthly bill.

I’ll look into just replacing the mesh altogether with a new system I think.

TP-Link mesh systems are great and cheap. You can often use a TP-link mesh unit as your main router too
