Apple mail app problem
Discussion
Wife and I use btinternet.com email accounts among others)
She can access through their web page but that needed a password change as the webpage was initially saying her account was locked for 20 minutes - but it had been saying that for days.
We have a WiFi connection where we are (France on holiday)
Her iPad and iPhone would not show recent mails. Tried restarting but no change.
Just deleted her account from her iPhone and resetup but get the following screens
Deleted
Followed (pressing OK and next) by
Deleted
Of course We want SSL but either way it connects to BT but no messages. Just redone it and get the spinning wheel as if it is trying to connect.
Suggestions please.

Could be port filtering on whatever random wifi you're using.

Apple Mail is a bit <meh>, especially when it comes to odd configurations.
I switched to Canary Mail some time ago and it's more stable.
Your issues are likely to be stemming from the TLS configuration; IMAP works either by negotiating to TLS or fixing on TLS (explicit or implicit TLS). I could expect that BT only offers the service on port 993 or 143 which handshake in different ways.
They may also block traffic depending on origin. They may not like the French.

Do your devices still think they're in China?
If so, BT might not allow connections that are apparently from that locale.
