Hi all,

Elderly relative was recently offered seat leon 2017 diesel. I am not sure if the 1.6 or 2 diesel engine. He said car seems tidy.

I wanted to be useful, so please could anyone share any experiences with the car and engines?

Virtual beer/cider for whoever responds.

Kind regards

ARH

I bought a 2014 2.0 tdi fr 2 door with 125k on the clock 2 years ago, and its been no trouble at all. done about 16k miles in it so far and put new rear shocks and a battery on it. not missed a beat. I wouldn't be running a diesel if all your trips are 20 miles or less though. Mine gets used 2 or 3 days a week but covers decent length trips when used. I would buy another if i needed one.

If a diesel suits your usage then yes they're a decent car, make sure the cambelt has been done.

The 2.0tdi is the pick.

The 184bhp has the fully independent rear suspension so rides much better.
