V8S Manifold Gaskets

In case you didn't know or it's been a while since you attempted such a feat - I can confirm it is possible to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets on all eight ports without taking the manifolds off completely.

All you need is a variety of open/straight/cranked/ring spanners various ratchet attachments three elbows in each arm and four knuckle joints per finger.

Also does any one know the part no for the gasket at the collector that is secured by three bolts on the pre-cat V8S?

Are they a TVR only item or common to other cars?

N.B. If you are planning to drop one of your spanners down past the manifolds towards the chassis/body make sure it is not a cranked one - they really don't want to come out again!

I think I dropped a spark plug in the same place. I never did find it

Don't know if you have standard heads or not, as the ports may be bigger than nomal RV8 heads.
Standard gaskets afaik don't have along life when fitted in a tiv engine bay either. Give someone like V8 Developemtns a ring, they can supply thicker 'sandwich' type ones for standard or ported heads, which should last.

Yes - Good advice that I failed to mentionI have std heads, however I fitted the better quality sandwich type gaskets as the normal ones are pants
