I know I've moaned here before about the prices these clowns are trying to charge but I thought I'd give it a go as i had an email come through offering £59 tickets. Well I couldn't find those so checked the other prices for a day trip. My lads Mercedes a class 140£ for a day trip, my Tesla £470 for a day trip as it has to go on the lower deck, this includes flexible plus which I have no interest in. Po ferries £60 for a day trip includes charging for free both ways as well if on the new boats.

Does anyone actually pay this price to take an ev on the train???

Totally agree. For some while now I thing the price has outweighed the convenience. They are just taking the pi55. Used to use the tunnel 3-4 times a year, have used it once in the last 4 preferring to take the ferry it less than half the price

We used to go over 2-3 times a month, we live closeish to it when it was £60 for a day trip. Didn't mind paying that price, I've been over once since they went mental with the prices.

Jag ipace, same time, same passengers £125 for a day trip. The ipace is wider. Second gen aclass is more, £140 yet narrower than both of them.. I think some one randomly picked prices out of a hat.

I don't mind the ferry but my mother won't use it, she wants to go shopping in Belgium garden centers.

I think a lot of people are getting hit for long/high/low/wide vehicle pricing. There seems to be so many vehicles that have speshal needs that they can only travel in the single deck carriages.

If you look at each standard carriage it is marked out for 5 focus sized vehicles. Now every carriage transports no more than 4 vehicles and sometimes 3 if they are exceptionally long.

I’m doing a van trip later this month. Tunnel was over £550. Ferries were just over £300.

For the sake of just saving an hour each way (or usually less as it’s barely ever on time) it’s just not worth it. Would rather sit on the ferry and relax or get some work done. Either preferable to sitting in the car really

100% rather take the ferry. So much cheaper, more relaxing and usually a great way to start or end a trip / holiday. The sole attraction of eurotunnel is time. I am never time constrained when travelling to the continent.

I have a masters degree in being sea sick .
I just pay the tunnel and remember the days when I used to try the boat.
