Smuggling Beer In...

I'm reasonably sure your ticket does not say that and you'd just guessing at the icons.
The official details on what is/isn't permitted where can be found at https://assets.lemans.org/explorer/pdf/courses/202...
Specific to alcohol:
1. You can have a reasonable number of glass bottles, regardless of their contents, on the campsites but not inside the circuit. That did use to be an issue with track side campsites but the corporate takeover means us plebs don't actually have any of those any more(?). As a result by the rules you can take glass bottles onto the campsites.
2. You can have as many cans as you like, again regardless of their contents, but this time you can take them anywhere too - including inside the circuit.
Now that doesn't mean you won't be told you can't take them through any any checkpoint as, well training the temporary staff manning the gates has never been a strong point of the ACO. That's only usually an issue for people arriving through Tuesday though as the cycle of rules being enforced incorrectly/people complaining/the ACO clarifying things for their staff has usually been completed by then.
And if you do hit someone who tries to miss-enforce the rules at one gate, for circuit access just go to the next gate and you'll probably be fine, and for campsite access just sending someone in, taking the 'contraband' around the corner and throwing it over the fence to the insider is a classic move. And no, when the car that had contraband 10 minutes ago reappears with no contraband the gate staff don't seem to question what happened to it for even a second.

Regardless of their contents, into the circuit? No you can't - see the official link. You can take cans into the circuit but not those containing alcohol. So this would almost include Houx campsite which has always been considered as being inside the circuit - but that's just craziness. Which is still available to book, but getting smaller each year The official details on what is/isn't permitted where can be found at https://assets.lemans.org/explorer/pdf/courses/202...

As always it is possible to get stuff in - but it just depends.
The main thing they have issue with are beer bottles. There is no way they're stopping a French person from bringing wine into a campsite in a bottle!!! That just won't happen - but boxes and boxes of beer in bottles - they just don't like them - ever since the Moto 24 a few years ago. We switched to cans a few years ago and to be honest they're pretty good these days and less likely to shatter if dropped.

Alcohol is not banned from entry.
Glass is what’s not permitted.
However it does get interpreted on the gates by some as ‘no alcohol’.
Knowing I’m not a knob and won’t smash my bottle, I have brought wine in before. Best method was rolled in a blanket. So focused on the half hearted bag check it didn’t get a second look.
Have also brought in a good quality box o wine to get around the glass issue before.

Which in a way, really annoys me.If you’re doing it on grounds of security, then do it properly.
The times I’ve presented my bag, open ready, and they barely even glance inside. I could have literally anything inside…. Even a deadly glass bottle of wine.
But then if someone was bringing something in they really shouldn’t, there isn’t then the means of actually stopping them at the gate should they decide to get in and do whatever.
It’s that token effort that makes me think why even bother in the first place. Not even really that much of a deterrent.
Like catching the ferry locally to France. Foot passengers get airport style check and people going in by car have the odd random check which involves maybe one bag being put through the x-ray machine.
So random and pathetic, why bother doing it.

Actually looking again you are correct and alcohol is officially banned from the circuit now. Misread the image yesterday.
That said never found it necessary to drink that much when I'm track side and if you don't buy a couple of beers you don't get to complain about both it's quality and price!

Stand corrected… stating no alcohol allowed.
A couple of drinks, worth a punt bringing in for convenience.

Which just goes to show you how inconsistent it is because two years ago, the bottom my rucksack was full of cider cans and the first thing they did to everyone before even opening the bag was tap the bottom and I was busted. Luckily I convinced him that it was lemonade and I got to keep it. Judging by the absolute mountain of cans and bottles at the security desk others were not so lucky. This was the Saturday morning for reference.
