Metallica - had tickets a few years ago and was going to take a mate but he couldn't make it so I sold the tickets.

I actually had a ticket to see them in Manchester but ended up not going because i decided it was too much like hard work. And well, Manchester for me is actually too much like hard work for me (not that I live that far away, it's just that public transport from the west of the city is utterly wk). So now, even if there's someone I want to see, and they are on in Manchester, I don't bother.

Bunked off school to sit hitting repeat dial to Stargreen Box Office until I got through & got 3x tiks for me & mates.

Van Halen - twice in the early 90s, they were playing in Sheffield whilst I was living there as a student. The first time I was flat broke and struggling to buy food (I know, where was my commitment!), the second time I was on a field trip that I needed to attend in order to pass the course. And that was it for VH in the UK.

A friend had tickets for Live8 and as it was overrunning he left before they came on so he could catch his train. If ever there was a time to pay for a cab or sleep in a ditch, then that was it.
