Has anyone bought one of these and have any honest feedback? Is it worth the purchase or just a gimmick?

I am aware of a couple of people who bought recently and are unimpressed ("return for refund" unimpressed).

I'm getting targeted all over the place by ads for this, the ads do a great job of making them look wonderful but the people they use to advertise don't really make me want to associate with them.

I've had the first version of this for many years and can confirm that they DO work, but like all of the devices in this market you'll need to put up with a lot of false alerts and you definitely can't rely on them 100%. But they do alert you to the presence of vehicles/individuals carrying Airwave/Tetra radios and they will do this in situations where you wouldn't be otherwise aware of them. On balance I've found having that additional information outweighed the negatives.

However, I wouldn't buy one now.

The long-delayed ESN roll-out will soon make these completely redundant so you'll be lucky to get 3-4 years use out of it. In my view they are much too expensive if you're only going to get that sort of lifespan from it..
