Supposedly there were fiddles applied to the boost levels that were hard to detect. Unless the car was so fast it became obvious.

very cool - 959 as safety car and Salzburgring - my home track. I also drove Brno, which from memory is more of a motorbike track.
Need to do a track day again, I miss that. Still, I think racing would be too much for me - not enough talent.

Sensible cost, Turbo Cup 944's are anything but sensible cost now.

What do you think a sensible cost now would be for a good original 944 Turbo Cup ?

When a 964RS NGT is £250k ??

Whatever, in the day they certainly were fun at sensible cost ... IMHO !!

It depends on it's race history and who the drivers were, doesn't it? And a 964 RS is a different kind of silly money to a 944 Turbo Cup. Despite the 944 probably being quicker on most tracks. I think Turbo Cups start around £60-70k now, which is about twice were I'd be interested.

And yet to me they (the 944 Turbo Cup) are a much more interesting car … 😉

Aside from the magnesium parts, surely it wouldn't be that hard or expensive to build a tribute?
