Really strange feeling
Discussion
I went out on my Ducati ST2 for the first time yesterday evening, filled up, bike warmed up, when I got to a 70 zone I whacked the throttle open in 2nd.
This is when it got weird, I started to get tunnel vision and felt dizzy… it stopped as soon as I closed the throttle.
I have had plenty of faster bikes, never felt this.
The only time I did was the first time as a passenger in a mates Tesla in ludicrous mode.
All I can think is maybe it’s low down grunt or there is something wrong with me.

Odd this came up today as my neighbour suffered similar when she was cycling home from work (she also rides a massive Harley).
Turns out the hospital thinks that she had a TIA, a mini stroke.
Hope it isn't that. I remember doing 150 on my GPz900R back in the 80s and I'm sure I had tunnel vision then

Could just be getting old unfortunately. I have a similar thing, also affected by roller coasters and doing somersaults (especially in the pool). Had an MRI and various other tests and just been told its age and to just suck it up.
How old are you ?
I have had it a couple of times on motorbikes.
As I expect you did just went straight home . I have been told by the doctor I have some inner ear issues and it's a balance related issue. Sitting upright and the fluid in the ear being forced back can set it off.
He said I would not be able to join the air force as a fast jet pilot . At 61 I am disappointed.

Hmmm, on planes and trains if I close my eyes every movement they make is massively exaggerated and last week at a hearing test he said one of my ears has a hard lump of wax in it.As I expect you did just went straight home . Add in being clumsy from birth...
OK I'm not a Dr but I am also 66 (2 weeks ago) and have just come back from a weekend away on my Ninja 1000SX, I had a few occasions when I whacked it open in 2nd (because why wouldn't you?) with no ill effects. Just to be on the safe side I reckon a check up at the Dr's to make sure you are OK as you want to keep enjoying the bike and health for this is very important. Hopefully nothing serious/sinister but better to be safe eh?
I remember in my yoof when I used to fit TV aerials and satellite dishes, quite often I would be sat on the ridge of a house lashing a TV aerial bracket on, then when I stood up to fit the pole and aerial I would go light headed and dizzy and have to sit back down again. I went to the Drs to get it checked out as I felt pretty unsafe. Their advice? Stand up more slowly LOL
Nothings changed much except I've been a pen pusher for the last 30 years so don't have the worry about falling off a house roof. Still get dizzy if I stand up too quickly and I've been this way for as long as I can remember and I'm still here (nearly 50 now). Never affected me with anything vehicle related mind you.

It’s all very much of a blur, as I was fuzzy headed with concussion & full of pain, but I seem to recall that during my recent six day stay ( enforced by the idiot car driver who smashed into me ) stay in hospital, that they seemed to be concerned numerous times, that my blood pressure was low ( it’s always been fine )
I am not a doctor ( but did study physiology) but I agree it could well be a drop in blood pressure to the brain. If your head is in font of your heart ( leaning forward) when you accelerate hard then the change in hydrostatic pressure could lead to a pressure change which your heart is not reacting to quickly enough.
I used to get dizzy, tunnel vision and feel sick sometimes when I stood up. I thought nothing of it for months until I woke up one night on the bathroom floor with a big gash in the back of my head from passing out and hitting the radiator on the way down ( worked that out by the paint embedded in my wound)
Definitely talk to a doctor about it.

I passed out at home, a particularly nasty boil ( in a Very delicate place …..) chose to burst in the early hours, I had been bed bound for about a week unable to walk due to it & my then wife was away with our young children, I got up & staggered onto the landing, then felt myself fall forward onto the door frame and BANG….
I woke up on the floor I think it was something like 15 minutes later with a huge bump on my temple, but amazingly the Incredible pain from the boil had really eased !
