Very Poorly Discovery sport
Discussion
Hello everyone.
My name is Marek, I'm new here and I was hoping to get some help with my Discovery sport as I'm stuck with a non running car after spending over £4000 on the repair.
So I took my car to the garage to have the timing chain replaced and as it turned out later on.
, with number of other parts 🙃. Turbo, both front suspension arms, water pump and new battery. But I didnt mind as I wanted to keep that car for a number of years to come.
So after all the work was done the car started straight away and was running like brand new again 👍👍 without a single fault.
Unfortunately this only lasted around 400 metres as car went in to limp mode and would not accelerate at all. Garage obviously did its diagnostic and following codes were found.
P06A6-1C - Sensor reference voltage A circuit range/performance - Intermittent
P0642-00 - Sensor reference voltage A circuit low - Intermittent
P0405-16 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sensor A circuit low - History
P26D4-16 - Variable coolant pump - supply voltage - circuit low - Intermittent
P0107-16 - Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP)/barometric pressure sensor input low
P2138-00 - Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch D/E voltage correlation
Obviously as I have mentioned above, straight away they put a new battery as I had a low battery message on the dash before they start working on the car, unfortunately no change at all. Also they did check all the wiring looms and electrical connections but no luck 😕.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Which engine does it have? Size, Petrol, diesel, what year, manual, auto etc, etc?
It sounds like its at the right place if its back at the garage that did the repair, and I would suggest they are going to have a lot better idea than anything we can offer on here based on a diagnostics read out I'm afraid, but keep us updated as you learn more.
If all that mechanical work has been done hopefully its down to a sensor rather than anything else.

Haved they fitted the correct battery?? P0642-00 - Sensor reference voltage A circuit low - Intermittent

Double check that.
You're saying they cannot clear any of those codes?
Something on that 5V ref circuit isn't happy. Given the nature of the work it has just had it's probably the sensor by the water pump took a bath, didn't get connected properly or something along those lines. Occam s razor and all that.
It s their problem to fix either way, but it doesn't sound like a difficult one to pin down if they've got someone who knows how to use a multimeter.
