Cooling fan wiring

I have a 95 Griffith which had one small and one large motor cooling fan rather than the two larger ones and one relay and fuse powering both.
I have since fitted two new fans with a fuse and relay each independent from the cars wiring loom.
Looking at the wiring diagram the original wiring has a feed from the fan motor feed to the ecu, I wondered what this does and whether I need to connect it back up?

Its to tell the Ecu to increase the idle speed a bit for when the fans kick in.
