Official Strictly Come Dancing thread 2026

So we've seen who the new presenters are, got the full line up of dancers and judges and now we're getting the slebs. Very early for that though, they're not normally announced for another couple of months yet. Anyway, so far confirmed are Lacey Turner (an Eastender. No idea on her personally, I don't watch the soaps), and Dani Dyer who had to pull out last year because of an injury.

Judges are unchanged, and no new dancers, although a number have left (including Nadiya sadly, but if it was her decision then I can see why, constantly getting given slebs for no other reason than they were taller than her). Not sure on the presenters at the moment, I know nothing about Emma Willis but Josh Widdecombe always comes across as a bit of a twerp, and when standing in for flavour of the month uber-luvvie Romesh Ranganathan on the radio was absolutely dreadful. I wonder what role Johannes will take, as he's been named as both presenter and dancer.

I also wonder, with such an upheaval of dancers and presenters whether the show will get a bit of a revamp (and no, before someone says it, it doesn't need to be canned as past its sell by date - it's pretty much the biggest show on British TV and franchised across the globe, the BBC ain't axing their front line prime time premier family entertainment show any time soon!).

Interesting to see how it'll all pan out.

My prediction:

We'll all grumble about the new team, about the new 'who?' celebs, about the need for a more thoroughgoing refresh.

And we'll all watch it just the bloody same
