Which 992 GT3 after a 997RS...?
Discussion
I've just sold my old RS which I've had for over 15 years. Back then it was a case of what was available and they were all almost exactly the same other than colour.
I'd like a modern car to replace it - however the choice & options feel bewildering & thought I'd canvas opinions from drivers here.
I think i'd like a touring but can't put my finger on 'why' - are there real-world differences beyond the rear spoiler & perhaps club sport/cage between the two versions?
It'll be road use only & I've a strong preference for PDK mainly as driving in the South East has a fair amount of traffic tedium.
Thoughts...?
The differences between winged and Touring in terms of driving experience are minuscule at best. Same engine, gearbox and chassis. The differences in aero are irrelevant on public roads.
As for manual vs. PDK: The post 997 manual gearboxes have a light clutch and slick operation. It's like a great manual in a regular car

The currnet 992.2 GT3 Touring has one of if not the best all round package for a road 911 that i have ever driven, in terms of range of damping, ride quality, steering feel and body control. The only question is PDK Or Manual, thats down to personal preference.
Interesting - I prefer the look of the .1 - however I'm open to a .2.. I shall keep a lookout for both at dealers etc - thanksN24 said:

I know what you mean about the front on the 992.2 ones etc. But if you get chance have a drive in a one, its a very big difference in ride quality over the .1 one, also with the Anti Dive tech the later one rides so flat in the fast corners now.
