Having seen the other thread re aftershave, I thought my question would get a bit lost...

So, are there any nice budget friendly aftershaves?

Most recent purchase was from Thompson Carter:

Having not used them before, I went for the create your own trio set which is 3 x 10ml @ £49.00.

You can also buy 5 x 2ml for £23:

I chose Shelby Lane, Smoke & Mirrors and Postcard From - all are good but Shelby Lane my preference from the three.

A lot of decent reviews so if you want to try something new with minimal outlay would recommend giving them a go:

This seems all rather expensive. I used to buy Superdrug's own brand (Cedar something) at a massive £2.50 a pop. It was a bit "sharp" in smell but hey, look at the price. Then they stopped selling it at my local store, and now I use Nivea after-shave balm at about £7 a time. Outrageous price.

(When I was a young buck it used to be Karl Lagerfeld, which the ladies seemed to like - those were the days).

M&S have a decent range I’ve seen, they’re £12 a bottle and according to the online reviews do last all day

Not tried them myself but I did smell them in store and liked them, but must be worth a shot, there’s ones called “amber” “sandlewood” etc

Proraso Sandalwood aftershave lotion - about £20 for a 400ml bottle on Amazon.

Bluebeard's Revenge.
Musgo Real Claus Porto.
Jovan Musk.

A good few years back, I received another one as a Christmas gift from an older aunt, think she likely got it in either Aldi or Superdrug. It was a rip-off of something well know (maybe Savauge?) Was a bloody good facsimile, such that I used the lot. This thread has just jogged my memory. Ring any bells for anyone?

Edit: Musgo £60? I'm pretty sure I'd remember paying that.

I am going to sound extremely Council but I was in Lidl and they had a selection of aftershaves for about £5 a bottle. They do one with a gold top and it smells really nice.

I like that Jeff Banks stuff from Home bargains.

If I want to be posh Code Red.

Trouble is with cheapo aftershave is, even if it’s smells good, it doesn’t last like the expensive stuff.

I have found that Thomson and Carter fragrances just dont have any longevity. So you end up applying them more doubling the cost at least

They were £5.95 when I got them a couple of years ago, they are perfect for a gym bag.

The Homme is a Sauvage type scent, not a great copy but even if you take it face value it and not compare it to anything it is quite decent. The One fragrance is a PR One Million copy (but not quite there) still quite nice. The X-bolt is an attempt at Hugo Boss bottled intense and it is the best of the three, it really is quite close and lasts well (the are all EDP) The great thing about X-bolt is that it resembles an aftershave that HB no longer make and it was one of my favourites so I am chuffed about that.

Ahhh X-Bolt, that's the one I mentioned earlier getting as a gift, using it all and not remembering what it was called or what it was a smell-alike of. thumbup
