Smart meter but no in house device?

If you have bought a house that has a smart meter but previous owners took the in house device, how do you identify which in house device you need and where do you get them? ty

If it’s a smets2 meter it will be a Chameleon IHD3 / IHD6 / IHD7

I've yet to see the us of them, ours can't get a reading unless it's somewhere inconveniently placed, on top of which you can't read the meter from it anyway.

Can t you just use the App?

My smart meter install was last week and they don’t issue them by default anymore as all the info can be viewed directly on your phone.

I could, but I would need to pick up my phone and with the IHD I can just glance over and see it is in the red section.

Octopus IOG has a habit of constantly changing schedules, so if I am running something else to take advantage of the cheap house electricity then it is a useful check to see that they haven't changed the schedule and now the house is peak rate because the car isn't charging.

My smart meter display packed up after a power cut 2 weeks after having the smart meter fitted and they couldn’t get it working again.

My smart meter display packed up after a power cut 2 weeks after having the smart meter fitted and they couldn t get it working again.

Ours couldn’t be read after they rebranded to EonNext, they just ignored me and refused to change it so moved suppler and they had no problem accessing it🤔

Its useful to check at a glance we are not exporting (for nothing)
