Sports/Prestige dealer recommendations

I've lost patience waiting for a well maintained S.3 Maserati Granturismo to become available and started looking at alternatives, such as the Alfa Giulia Quad and Merc C63 AMG. There are plenty of dealers specialising in these sort of cars, presumably many using the SOR model, but I have no experience of any of them and have limited trust in google reviews. With cars like these I consider good after sales imperative as the insurance warranty will likely be useless.

Wondered if we could have an ongoing thread of recommendations please, based on personal experience or those of friends and relatives. Obviously no listing of bad experiences and breaking PH rules.

Baytree in Derby. Friend is mates with the owner, they seem genuine. Supplied a bentayga, various range rovers and an urus over the years. If I ever decide to chop in my dacia for an lc500, this is probably the first place I'd check.

I bought a C43 from them a few years ago and couldn’t fault them!

I found this bit interesting. Being candid; What exactly are your expectations here?

Good independent dealers at any level will source, prep and stand by their cars rightly, but only to a point (with that point usually being at and around the consumer rights act).

My expectations are as you set out. Unfortunately there are too many stories on PH of dealers not wanting to know once the car has left their premises.

Dove House in Rushden are a great bunch, mainly Porsche but do have other brands

Top 555 in Oakham seem to get constantly good reviews and have been around a long time.
Very good presentation of their cars.
I’ve visited a couple of times but never bought as not what I wanted has been in stock.

UberGT near Reading, bought one car from Peter and their stock is chosen on pretty strict criteria. Tend to focus on pork products.

I bought a 996 turbo from them a long time ago - around 2009 maybe. Too long ago to be relevant perhaps but they were great at sorting out the coolant leak it developed soon after the sale

I've had good dealings with many dealers over the years.

I've seen a lot of positive stuff about Portland Autos near Doncaster and they have a wide range of quailty stock with a lot of repeat customers.

I'll second Richard Grace when it comes to Maserati, was superb for me.
Can't help you out on a Granturismo but do have a Gransport MC Victory (one of 12 in the country and 180 worldwide) if interested

Agree about John Holland. I bought a Caterham off them, which is probably not their usual stock, turns out the lsd was bust but only realised after about six months of owning after reading online forums saying it was a weak point. They went above and beyond sorting out the issue when they could have easily said out of warranty or just wear and tear.
