Sorry for spamming the forum but I'm looking at a flight to South East Asia with Etihad that shows a 1.5 hours connection time in Abu Dhabi.
I think the shortest connection time I have ever done is about 2 hours in Dubai.
Is 1.5 hours actually feasible?

Thanks

I had a 1hr 5min transfer in Dubai on the way to Japan with Emirates last year. Like you I was worried but actually found we were waiting at the gate for 30mins for the next flight. Middle East airports are extremely good at making connections seamless

We once transitted through Abu Dhabi airport when flying to Australia and due to fog our plane was delayed landing, so we had to get across the airport in around 30 minutes to make the connection. It was close but we made it, even though our luggage didn’t. Unfortunately I can’t remember whether we went through security but I think we stayed airside throughout the transfer.

If both legs are on the same ticket you’ll be fine and the airline will get you through without drama barring extenuating circumstances.

Personally I'd not leave it that tight. I work in the industry and see how common little delays are. It'll probably work but I don't find that sorry of thing terribly relaxing.

How confident are you that your first leg will arrive on time? From what airport does it depart and at what time of the day?

Just checked and Etihad MCT (minimum connection time) is 45 mins, so all things being equal you’ll be fine. Doesn’t leave much room for error if there is a delay with the first flight though, but if on the same ticket Etihad will sort you out.

In normal times (whatever that actually means), I’d be fine with this, albeit would prefer another 30 mins or so ideally, but looking at the current state of the M E I’d probably exercise severe caution!

It’ll be totally fine. Abu Dhabi is massively oversized for its current throughput. I’ve never seen it busy even at peak.

I’d also make sure you book direct with the airline vs a third party broker / travel agent. Nothing more frustrating than trying to sort a drama and being told you have to contact someone else
