Up to £110k daily but special

So I am looking for a new car at the moment and just wanted a check from fellow enthusiasts to make sure I am not missing anything else obvious.

Criteria:

- up to £110k
- less than 4 years old
- Coupe
- Can be daily driven (will be my only car but WFH so won't have to do commuting duties)
- Special enough that it will keep me off the classifieds for a least a good few months after getting it

Current short list
- R8
- 911
- GT4
- AM Vantage

Currently leaning towards a R8, that engine is just so special. 911 I'll be honest feels a bit boring currently. Would be the sensible option, looks like I could get myself into a new lightly specced Carrera with current discounts. AM vantage I like but couldn't stretch to the new shape which means I think I would always be disappointed being in an older shape. GT4 cheaper option, good engine but I am not sure will feel special enough

Anything I have missed?!

I think if you want ‘special’ you’re going to find a 911 a bit dull. Excellent all-round cars, but not exciting in the slightest. But, for a daily driver they’re probably unbeatable.

With that budget I’d push the age out a year or two and get an AM DBS - pretty sure I’ve seen them for £110ish. They’re properly special and the bonus is the road tax will be cheap as it’s over five years old. Weirdly cheap to insure as well.

Others I keep looking at include Evora GT430/410s, Spyder RS (very special!) and M8 Competitions. I’m not brave enough for for a Roma!

What's your concern re a Roma? I've started to look at them as a retirement daily. Anything I should consider?

To be honest my concerns aren’t so much around the car, but more the Ferrari experience. It’s just a feeling, but I get the impression that if you keep up with main dealer servicing and extended warranties it would be a case of routinely having your pockets emptied.

I suppose, in all honesty, it just means I can’t afford one. At least with Porsche you’re not getting stung with huge depreciation, servicing is reasonable (ish) and the warranties are supposedly good (although I’ve not had to test it).

My Aston main dealer experience was also hugely negative. But the specialists can do things for a fraction of the price, especially when a lot of the parts come from other, cheaper cars. I’d just worry that Ferrari might discontinue parts or something.

Couple of cars beginning with M to consider. Mercedes AMG GT and there's a 2023 Mclaren GT on AT for £98k.

Others : LC500, a silly engined Mustang, McLaren GT, you’d just scrape a newer model Conti iirc, or the new model AMG GT.

Sounds like we are considering similar options and perhaps drawing some similar conclusions.

The problem for me is, so far the Ferrari is the only one that I've really found desirable. In the end, that will trump all else, (within reasonable bounds).

Many Ferrari parts also come from other cars. I needed a compressor for my 348 years ago - the air con specialist didn't buy it from Ferrari.

Leftfield but a bloody good steer & a cabin that makes you feel special when you're in the drivers seat is the C8 Corvette.

OG AMG GT R would be a real event, especially if they did them before the 2018 GPF exhaust update.
