The UK government may reduce its target for how many new cars sold must be electric by 2030.
At the moment, the rule says 80% of new cars sold in the UK should be electric by 2030. Car makers and unions say this target is too hard, too expensive, and could put jobs at risk. They want it lowered.
The government is now looking at reducing the 2030 target to somewhere between 50% and 70%, but it will consult before making a final decision.
