RE: GregE240's Porsche Boxster S

The more Octan it got, the cleaner it is burning.
On the not so good side, it burns a little bit hotter (nothing to worry about) but the electronic injection should be adapted to it as well. I know from the BMW's that they do that automaticly, but don't ask me about Porsche.
Funny thing, my Omega has a turn around chip. When I drive it with 93 Normal, it needs that ammount of gas more then it is cheaper then 95 Super.
On the other hand, with 95 Super or 98 Super Plus it simply goes like stink!! (relativ for an Omega)

Excellent holiday thanks DeR - walked away from a house purchase as it would have meant too much of a lifestyle change. Another year, for sure.
Great weather (apart from the last day), good company, nice birthday, another watch, more clothes, suntan. The usual, really !
Still trying to catch up.
Imelda, I'll deal with you later ! Nice to see you looking at a Porsche board though....!

*lol* Sorry, didn't wanted to insult your car. It was just that I knew an explanation for the phenomenon you posted "better MPG (don't ask me why)" and I thought you would be pleased to know why. It burns cleaner, more effective.
I mentiond the BMW and the Omega because I (personally) experienced these phenomenom with both cars, and while the one was able to adapt it automaticcally the otherone needed a helping hand. So, in your case, I would ask somebody knowing Porsches if it is ok. The better MPG Value indicates that it is, but it can't harm to ask.
By the way, neither a BMW 850CSI nor a Lotus Omega are soooo bad car's to be compared with.
