Yes this is a bit of a weird ask.
In the garden is a pillar (part of a gate structure) which for some unknown reason has rotated slightly on its base. Weirdly it hasn't caused the attached gate to malfunction.
So my task is to rotate it back (ever so slightly) so that it is square with the plinth.
I can then brace it to the plinth so that it is secure and isn't a hazard.
I'm thinking a ratchet and strap method (there are some heavy duty metal posts that I can use as the anchor)
Obviously trying to insert a metal shim between pillar and base might be too dangerous (topple hazard)
Are there any other methods?
Ideally would like someone to pop round with their JCB and give it a slight nudge with the bucket!

Was the pillar originally just sat on the base did it used to be cemented? To get it back in line, you could ratchet strap and off-cut of box section steel to it and then insert a long scaffold tube to lever it round. How tall is it?
scaffold tube has given me an idea - if I make up a small square of scaffold tubes clamped together with one side made up of a longer section of tube then I could slip it over the pillar and try and rotate it.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
