I shop there, and I haven't noticed any pricing issues. I try to keep a running total in my head so I've got an idea of what the total should be once it's all scanned. I keep an eye on some prices between them, Iceland and Sainsbury's, and each one has some things at a better price than the others. I don't buy much, though, so if you're doing something like a "family shop" or buying "proper food", that's probably different.

It will depend on the Store. We have all the supermarkets local to us and Tesco are by far the best. Scan as you shop and check the prices as you go.
I take my mum shopping once a fortnight and she insists we go to Aldi and Lidl. Aldi are not to bad but Lidl are awful apart from the bakery section. The Lidl is a big enough store but the fruit and veg are always terrible.

Bearing in mind the Costco thread as well, do people expect traipsing round a supermarket to be a nice experience?

It's just grocery shopping.

No. Depending on what I’m buying it’s Lidl, Waitrose, the local butcher or fishmonger or one of two farm shops.

But never Tesco.

Morrisons Dumfries bad for price errors and end dated stuff.
Staff there generally decent. If you say they fix it but shouldn’t have to

All supermarkets are guilty of incorrect shelf pricing, out-of date stuff still on display and effing aisles chocca with new stock still to be shelf stacked, [ yes, that's you Aldi ], Tesco is no worse than any other retail outlet.

Tesco are switching to digital shelf labels for all stores. Should stop price errors.

Sainsbury's has the best shopping 'experience' in my experience.

Yup Sainsbury’s for the win but I do like a Morrisons fish counter.

In mine it’s Ocado / M&S home delivery.

No, for reasons other than incorrectly priced items.
The quality of the meat is shocking.
The fruit isn’t great.
I don’t see it as good value for money when comparing against Ocado, Waitrose or my local greengrocer.

I think where people have the means we should be supporting smaller businesses.

Supermarket location is more important than overall brand in general, so I'll avoid most supermarkets within either walking distance of massive council estates, or posh enough (and usually co-located with a fking B&M\Dunelhm etc.) to make it a 'day out' shop.

Any ASDA is best avoided

Most Morrisons (very much since the takeover)

Super sized Tesco's

What you need is a nice M&S in a market town, Waitrose without a fast food place nearby, small commuter Morrisons or nice middle class Tesco

Or

Any Lidl, they're pretty consistent

As are Aldi, they're the st very of Lidl

Not that I've given it much thought!

And completely forgot about Sainsbury's they're probably the most consistent of the old school, nothing amazing, nothing terrible!

I don't like how Tesco unhygienically leave out their in store bakery bread on big, low open shelves for people to grab. M&S do the same. Lidl are slightly better as you have to remove the bread from a box, but still far from good. I'm not sure about Waitrose or Asda, but Sainsburys at least still pre-bag their bread.

Stopped buying meat and fish years ago, after the re packaged chicken they were buying, and it was usually ste.

Then stopped altogether when they started this Aldi price match bks.
As far as I see that, it was an admission of ripping off for years lol, and a bit of competition seen as a much bigger threat.

Can’t say I’m loyal to any supermarket. Usually choose the most convenient or best value in the area at the time.

However I usually avoid those that require you to join their ‘club’ to get the best prices. What a load of bks.

The stores are dumps even compared to what the used to be.

And their Clubcard prices are a scam.

Sainsburys does it all better.

Tesco - brilliant store.

I live near a mahoosive one and went in today to pick up some drinks. Many of the items were price-matched against Aldi and others were on offer.

The headline bill started at £144 and with Clubcard discount that was reduced to £120.

No complaints from me.

Bingo.

If Aldi and Lidl float your boat by all means go for it. I've not been impressed at all.
