Guys,

My trend firewall keeps bringing up a warning message saying its found a trogen and has quarenteened the file. it keeps popping up every 30 seconds.

looking in the quarenteen folder its there hundreds of times.

I have done evrything thing trend says to do enable search and clean trojens etc etc. but it has not got rid of it.

any idea's it getting really annoying. is it time the governement made an examplle of these people who make these viruses and cut their balls off?

Repeated popping up of Trojans could be caused by spyware. If you delete the virus, the spyware will replace it. If you delete the spyware, the virus may replace it (not as usual). Boot into safe mode (F8 at end of bios sequence), run a full spyware scan and then a full virus scan.

If that doesn't work, I usually find the one off fixes from symantec usually nuke the buggers.

OK, first off, download a nice browser (Opera, Firefox etc etc). Boot your PC into safe mode and update your virus checker. Run a virus scan in safe mode and see if it can pick up the virus and delete it. Delete all cookies and temporary internet files.

If this doesn't work, we can try manual removal....if you drop me a mail I can help you with this

Ok.

I have downloaded firefox and set that as my default browser. Not sure what this means as I use AOL anyway.

ok next I started in safe mode and opened up the Trend penicillin internet security center.

lots of errors came up conflict this, conflict that anyway it would not let me scan for viruses.

hi Aranell,

Just seen the e-mail and read it through a few times I think I can tackle that thanks to your comprehensive instructions. when I get some piece and quite and a few hours to spare I sit down and go through it.

I will post back on here or e mail you to let you know how I get on. many thanks
