M4 Competition or Audi RS3 8V DAZA
Discussion
Really struggling to decide between these two. I’ve been going round in circles for months trying to choose my next car, and I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to these. I know they’re quite different, but I’ll try to explain where I’m coming from.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has owned both and can compare them properly. Even better if you’ve also owned any of my previous cars, as that might give a better idea of what I’m looking for.
I’ve never owned a proper M car or an RS, so my previous cars are the main reference points for what I’m hoping to improve on.
I had a Z4 E85 3.0si, and with a proper alignment it felt really tight, with very little body roll and genuinely good handling. Eventually I wanted more power, though, and it was also very jittery over anything remotely uneven, so I moved it on.
After that I had a 385bhp M135i. The power was great and I really enjoyed the shove it had, but on a B-road it handled terribly. I also never really gelled with the gearbox (good for commuting though)
I’m currently in an 05 WRX STI import, which is a phenomenal car. I absolutely love the grip; it’s almost comical how much traction it has. That said, being a JDM car it doesn’t sound great, and I do miss the power I had in the M135i. and it still has some slight body roll, doesnt feel as special as I imagined. I also don’t want to modify a stock JDM STI.
So that brings me to the next car. I think the easiest way to sum it up is this:
I miss the tight, connected feel of the Z4.
I miss the power and sound of the M135i.
And I know I’ll miss the Subaru’s grip, especially in bad weather, along with the attention it gets.
RS3 gives me the grip, power and sound, not sure it will feel locked in and tight on a B-road or sweeping road? I feel like it will be a nicer place to be too.
M4 gives me the power and the locked in handling, as well as potentially feeling more special?
What the hell do I do
