Would you buy the same car as a neighbour or a friend?
Discussion
It depends, same car as a friend? I have done in the past, which was sort of by accident (we both had white with navy leather BMW 635CSi).
I wouldn't now because it's a bit tragic and reminds me of that 'Bracelet Buddies' scene from Friends.
That's why I don't have an F-Type V8 as my friend and my nephew both drive them.
I would if the car was important enough to overlook that, or if there was a big advantage in owning the same car, such as sharing spares and tools.
I'd never have the same car as a neighbour, I suppose everyone likes to think they are an individual, and when you all love in similar houses, are of similar age, drive similar cars it gets a bit depressing, a reminder that we are all just drones running up the down escalator of life never getting anywhere...

Wow, I honestly would never have thought that people think like that... shows what I know about folk.I wouldn't now because it's a bit tragic and reminds me of that 'Bracelet Buddies' scene from Friends.

Personally, I'd think no more of it than if one of my neighbours had the same lawnmower or telly... then again, with my tastes, I reckon any of my neighbours matching my choices would be pretty unlikely.

Depends on how close I am. I wouldn't buy the same car as my Dad because I could just drive his. I would buy the same as my uncle because we live on other ends of the country and I would rarely get the chance (both can drive my car whenever I see them and both would let me drive theirs). I wouldn't worry about buying the same car as my neighbour or not just to make the lane look the right way.

There are 16 houses in my street. There are 5 new Landrover Defenders, 3 Range Rovers, a Velar and a Discovery Sport. It is quite bizarre but as one of the Defender owners I can't scoff too much and the neighbourhood and location probably lends itself to "that sort" of car.
My mate once had a silver S1 Exige and within a few months of seeing it I had one. I then had a red Ferrari 360 Spider and again within a very short while we both had one. He added a V8 Vantage and within a month or so I had an identical one. He bought a Suburu and shortly after I bought an Evo. I actually bought my Defender about a year after seeing his. He recently bought an Emira, I added an Elise.
Probably seems a bit odd but it's quite good to get a good to get a good nosey around a car that you might be interested in without the pressure of a Dealer.

I have the same house as my neighbour so why not? And my last car was a silver BMW e61 530d, my best mates last car was a silver BMW e61 530d, except mine was nicer.
I've another mate who had a couple of e39 5 series when I had e39's, in fact, the shared interest in the cars was the reason for us becoming mates.
