Hi,

Found a V8V Roadster, 2021, spec as below, color is great ...

How good / bad is standard audio?

Standard audio is bad. Upgraded audio is OK. The upgraded audio on older cars and on the newer cars is much better (the upgraded audio in my old 2009 and my current 2025 is significantly better).

So from my perspective, if you want decent sound and want to keep it stock, get the upgraded audio. If you want really good audio on that car, get the base system and upgrade it yourself.

It is tolerable. Doesn t really matter in a roadster though. smile

Of much greater importance is that you have the really nice seats in that one. Plus the external black pack which is essential unless you like grey plastic.

Called today to put a deposit on it, they took one yesterday, ceramic blue over black

Good luck in your search - they are great fun cars and at that age, without the ADAS nonsense. My only two wishes for mine would be carplay (I know I can get this added - never got round to it!) and perhaps a slightly fruitier exhaust note (GPF on roadsters). You might want to seek one with the bonnet vents. Especially if you go for a darker colour in the end.

No GPF in Australia thank goodness. Great sound! I got CarPlay fitted at the dealer and it works well. The screen is surprisingly good. So crazy they didn’t come with it as standard.

Just thought that I'd add that the grey plastic is actually painted on these new Vantages and not bare plastic like on most cars. I checked with a body shop in the UK and they confirmed that AM use a fine matte lacquer to paint the plastic. And for the record matte (or gloss if preferred) PPF does stick to it as it is smooth. As expected for an Aston, the finish actually looks really good.
