I’ve very recently had an Ohme ePod charger installed. Unfortunately I’m having issues with using the scheduling.

My current provider is Fuse and Im on a variable off-peak tarrif that is cheaper 01:30-08:30. Car is Mercedes E300e PHEV with 25kwh battery.

The issue is that i set the in the Ohme app to schedule to start at 01:30 and finish 08:30. It confirms this when I plug in and start the dynamic charging’ session, but a few minutes later it will start charging in the peak time. I can pause this in the app but the cycle repeats a few times and then it seems to accept it and will charge correctly in the set period.

Last night it did the same problem, but didn’t charge at all, however it is showing in my Fuse energy app that it did use 12kwh in the off peak slot. I’ve raised this with Fuse who are currently looking at why this has happened.

My main issue is why can’t the Ohme app schedule correctly. The Mercedes app has scheduling disabled and as far as I can see, Fuse doesn’t allow scheduling on this tariff that I’m on. Totally baffled.

Is your tariff set correctly in the app?

As far as I can see.

I’ve manually set the off peak / peak times and rates, and set to ‘do not charge above off peak’ rates.

This is currently see on the app, which is corrrect. It will finish charging at 08:30 (in the off peak period. However upon plugging in it will start charging within a few minutes.

“ Ohme normally has options such as:

  • Charge immediately
  • Smart charge
  • Dynamic charging / tariff optimisation
  • Target battery percentage
  • Ready-by time
If “dynamic charging” is enabled, Ohme may be trying to optimise charging according to tariff information it believes it has, rather than simply obeying a hard start time.”
