Andy Burnham Prime Minister

Of course not.
Any other PM would have been gone already with his track record.
I don't believe he'll have a choice.
The way Lisa Nandy was portraying Burnham as some sort of second coming was vomit inducing.
He's just a working class lad from Aintree. Who has done things in Manchester for the right reasons. Any other PM would have been gone already with his track record.

What does it matter really? Surely unless he s going to change the whole cabinet and bin off reeves and ed milliband it will be more of the same since they re the ones really driving all the s
te they have come up with since getting into power
The prime minister is just the show pony, probably too weak to come up with any policies
Labour lost so many council elections because of the changes Rachel reeves came up with, and even more because of the immigration farce, what is Andy B going to change so radically to make them think they’ll win another election?

I m more intigued to know whether he s going to start wearing a collar and tie, as he should, or persist into the House with his 1980s Art College lecturer suit and t-shirt rig.
The old phrase springs to mind One can when one has to. I m sure he ll know exactly when to don a suit and tie. It was Cameron who accelerated the trend for binning ties when he wished to appear one of the people.(Unsuccessfully). As a Cambridge graduate at Fitzwilliam College A.B. would have gone through all the formal rituals, Grace in Latin, etc, etc which you may regard as being anachronistic rubbish ( possibly rightly) but it stands you in good stead when you have to attend highly formal occasions.Edited by Lester H on Saturday 20th June 16:41

As long as female MPs are allowed in to the commons wearing frocks suitable for going straight on to a sticky carpet nightclub a dress code requiring him to wear a tie cannot be anything other than anachronistic. I don't really care, I'd much rather they get on with governing effectively; if he wants to wear a tie that's his business.
Going forward who knows? But he has fought for Manchester and the North, done good work with the Bee network, investment in the city is up, tons of building going on- mostly up mind!
I don't think he has done a bad job for us all in all it's just if he can do anything similar for the country without pissing off the South by running loads of Northern Powerhouse projects!
Regular on BBC radio Manchester with Mike Sweeny as well where he takes calls on live radio and seems to tackle them well although he does 'err' and 'erm' a lot which is not a good look (listen). If it gets that t
t out of number 10 then it's a win even if he messes it up.
