Took my car in to get some work done and saw this in the showroom. Looked different to other other Model Y’s with the wheel combo so had a look inside and it looks like the Model Y L that’s been for sale in China for a while. Doesn’t look like there’s much chance of using those rear seats if you have legs

Had a look on the tesla website. Long range model Y is now available with 7 seats.
I hope the middle row slide forward a bit…

Ah ok that probably explains the lack of leg room in the rear seats. You can slide the middle seats forwards but it severely compromises leg space without making enough difference to rear seat leg space to make them usable.

Actually looks like the optional 7-seat configuration of the regular Model Y, not the YL

YL has a different rear badge, is 7 inches longer and 2 inches taller and has captains chairs in the 2nd row - not a bench seat:

Yeah I’m sure you’re right. I was looking for the different badge but wondered if Tesla might have decided to do away with that for the UK market and ditto the seat config as they seem to chop and change things frequently. The extra length of the Y L will be needed if those rear seats are to be remotely usable.

doesn't look any worse space wise than any other 5+2 car. The wife has a vauxhall zafira as a runaround and its great for the us-case of "bring 5 kids to a party" - bringing 7 adults wouldn't be good.

Especially since the YL only has 6 seats!
