Jersey on foot/ferry? Accom?

Anyone done Jersey by ferry without car?

Wonder if anywhere nice to stay not too far from landing? Hotel or b&b. Say less than £150 a night b&b.

Also getting around once there, public transport good?

Must sees? Bunkers, zoo? Nature, historical, architecture sort of thing.

Any info appreciated.

I rented a car when I was over there. Fiat 500 for 3 days. It was very reasonable. Its a lovely island and very easy to explore.

As.for accommodation, I stayed at the Club Hotel and Spa. im sure it can be had for around 150 per night. The restaurant atta jed to the hotel is really nice.

The ferry port is within very easy walking distance of the centre of St Helier so should be masses of choice with that budget

We rented e-bikes, it's a small island so our daily mileage was well within the battery range.

Yes, done it with a hire car (pain having to pay for all the car parking) , and numerous times just using the buses to get around the Island.

The ferry landing is walking distance to the town centre.

If you decide to fly, plenty of buses go around the Island.

The must see's are the beaches.

Yep, easy to walk into town from the port, alternatively if you’re flying the airport bus drops you right in the centre and was really cheap last time I was there.

We bought a 3 day bus ticket and got round just fine. I think it was few £ each.

Fantastic seafood restaurant, the Crab Shack in St Brelade’s Bay (also a stunning beach) is well worth a visit.



Also, Flavours of Madeira in the area by the hospital for some gorgeous Madeirense food (10% of the population on the island is from Madeira bizarrely)

The buses are really good in the C.I. Weekly passes available from the central bus depot. Also the app will show you in real time the bus route and exactly where on the route the bus is at any given time.

The only downside that we noted was that (when we were there) the last bus was at about 7.30pm. We were very nearly caught out as we had intended to used a restaurant on the far side of the island.

Don't think that theres anywhere that we couldn't get to. Did walk a few times but roads are narrow and have few footpaths. Coastal paths are well worth experiencing.

If we go back I would choose bus over hire car and parking everytime.
