Hello everybody,
I am actually driving nuts with the wiper control on my left-hand drive Tuscan MK2. Before a few days the wiper motor was killed by loosing one of the connecting knobs and thereby blocking the motor. So I got me a new motor and changed the rod with the loosen knob. Not a big thing getting the stuff replaced. The only thing is that after this the end-position cut-off is not working any more. So I started looking for the reason, what already took me three day without success.
I already checked some things. The system of the motor itself is ok, the rotary switch for the wiper also seems to work, all fuses in the fuse box are ok and I renewed the wiper relays.
The strange thing is, that the Wiper Relays in the fuse box seems to have any function. The motor is doing always the same, with the relays in place ore with the relays plugged out. On interval position the Motor runs for about one second what means it makes about 80% of one revolution and than it stops until the interval time is over and than it starts again rotating for one second. Through this the wipers never reach the end-position, therefore it would have to make 100 % of a revolution. On low speed and high speed it works as it should but when switching it of, it stops immediately and the wipers are not running to their parking position. The result of the continuity measurements, I have done, is also unsatisfactory. There is now direct connection between relays, switch and motor. Last but not least I recognised some switching noise when operating the switch, which was not coming from the wiper relays in the fuse box, because this was not in place. This switching noise also was there after pulling out all the relays which are placed in the fuse box. So there has to be another hidden relays placed somewhere behind the steering unit, underneath the dashboard. As I don't want to dismantle all the steering stuff in the inside, without even knowing if this will give me access to the hidden relays, it would be fine if anybody could tell me where this relays is located. On my left-hand drive the fuse box is located on the left side, which on a right-hand drive is the passenger side, so if the fuse box on an right-hand driver is also on the left side (passenger side) it is likely that on this cars this additionally relays is placed behind the food floor cover under the dash board. It also would be very helpful if somebody is in possession of a wiring diagram for the MK2 Tuscan, because all I found up to now is for the MK1 Tuscans.
I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks in advance,
Regards Carsten
