First time out of uk since EES
Discussion
Off to Prague in 10 days time, from LHR
First trip out as the header.
Anything i need to know/do prior to arriving at the airport?
Downside is that i wont be able to get there earlier by Tube untril 05.10 flight departs 06.35
Upside is i am in club Europe so hopefully a bit quicker getting through than Economy
Downside...not much time to get pre flight scran and coffee....lol

We did Prague in early December last year. Did the registration and then a wait at a booth. Now there was a queue for the first batch of machines. So we legged it down a bit further and there were plenty more with no queues. Off then in a line for a manned booth. The manned booth does the fingerprint and face thing and then mushy stamped the passport. 15 minutes tops.
Now our understanding was that next time we went in to the EU we just walked up to a machine (like we do when we fly back into the UK) have the scans and get thru. No such luck in Madeira in March - no machines operational we just looked at dozens of idle ones). Almost 2 hours for a BA flight and a Jet 2 flight. 2 booths open. Coming out we were still in the Q at departure time when the machines were turned on go figure that one out.
Mallorca in late May - machines all operational basically no Queues but we had to do the initial set up scans again ....
Gatwich/Heathrow coming back in for those 3 trips (and a Long Haul in January) less than 3 minutes to get through scans & out.
