Sorry folks, have gatecrashed your section from my usual haunt of the HSV and Monaro compartment, after a forum search turned up the most threads and posts regarding under bonnet insulation in the TVR section!

So hoping to lean on some of your collective expertise here to help me refurbish an under bonnet insulation panel on a Holden / Vauxhall Monaro.

The panel is basically sound and faced with a very fine, fibrous fabric that is getting very tatty. It readily peels off from the yellow sculpted insulation panel, and the hope is to preserve that shaped panel and resurface it with a suitable fabric. The idea being to strip all the tatty fabric off, spray with adhesive and roller on the new fabric. But where to find that fabric, as it needs to be heat proof (doesn't melt, sag or shrivel up), fire proof (if something else goes wrong, I don't want this fabric to join in the party) and black. And the spray adhesive will need to be suitably heat proof as well.

Given that the forum search facility brings up quite a number of threads in the TVR section, but nothing specifically about refacing the existing insulation (I don't think....) have any of you folks got any advice on this you could impart please?

Cheers
