Did anyone see that really interesting program on C4 last night. Quite amazing revelations that the Germans in 1943 were testing anti-gravity technology.
It covered UFO sightings and also alleged abductions. All very wierd. The program finished with a weather satelite photo of a contrail of an aircraft (possible the Aurora) that they speculate can do 8000mph :yikes:

Intersting stuff

Didn't see it - but I have seen similar and it is fascinating.

Based upon the premise that the rate of technological improvement is ever accelerating, and that military technology is generally accepted to be at least 20 years ahead of civilian technology, there must be some amazing aircraft in prototype stage right now.

The Aurora project, which almost certainly does exist as it was once referred to by mistake in US Govt. budgets, is highly likely to use a ramjet/scramjet with no moving parts to produce the collosal velocities. What the airframe is made of is probably even more exotic.

I think that they were a bit misleading by intimating that the German experiments might have been anti-gravity. In fact, they were more to do with electronically induced levitation - either through magnetic fields or clever use of ionised air. The recent experiments they showed being carried out in Seattle were properly described - and also compared with the earlier German ones.

All in all, it was a good programme and more or less came to the conclusion that the vast bulk of sightings, especially in the US, were linked to USAF/CIA "Black Projects" and torrents of Department of Defense disinformation.

At those speeds the exterior surface will be ceramic, to avoid melting of traditional materials like titanium due to air friction.

This thrust technology was pionered back in the day with the SR71 blackbird, of which only 20% of it's forward thrust is due to it's engines! So where does the other 80% of thrust come from?....

The engines get the bird up to operating high speed as per normal, but they only exist to force the outside atmospheric air into a totally seperate cylindrical tube, which runs outside the normal engine area. As this air passes further down the cylinder, it gets squashed together closer and denser as the radius of the cylinder reduces near the back. Finally the air becomes so compressed and hot near the back that is self combusts and burns the oxygen inside the air itself, and so igniting a huge amount of additional thrust. Obviously this additional thrust makes it go much faster, so forcing even more air inside the cylinder, so it gets quicker again. It's a never ending cycle! IMO, the only thing stopping it reaching a million milers per hour or so it the restrictions of our materials. Pretty much most things will melt.

This is why the rear of a Blackbird has two different colour jets - a yellow normal thrust from the jet engine, plus a bright blue ring of thrust from the outer cylinders.

I saw that program, but I was a little dissapointed. It didn't really tell anyone, anything that wasn't known ten years ago.

I'm not a believer in ET style visitations. I do believe that people have seen "things". I think most of it is much more earthly.

Several years ago I saw a investigative documentary on BBC2 where some guy went off to all the UFO hot spots around America.

At one stage they had the CEO of Lockhead Martin in for an interview. When questioned about anti gravity drive systems he categorically stated that they'd had them for years, and were progressing very well with the research.

I was kinda shocked to see and hear someone of such stature sit and calmy declare this.

Also, when questioned about where the ideas for the technology had been derived - i.e. implying alien technology recovered from crashed UFOs, he said that due to the official secrets act he could not comment on that question.

No matter how hard the interviewer pushed the CEO just said 'no comment', wouldn't admit it, wouldn't deny it.

My sister and brother-in-law live in Texas and are good friends with a retired three star General, he has clearance into the Pentagon and still works closely with CIA etc.

I've had beers with the guy a few times, and tried to get a bit of info out of him with respect to UFOs. Again he's sworn to secrecy (and regularly has to go for lie detector tests as part of his ongoing government contracts) so of course you never get a straight answer, not sure if he was just jesting with me but he has definately alluded to there being some pretty weird stuff going on.

Same here.

Most of what was shown was not greatly revealing although I must admit I hadn't known much about the German experiments in WW2.

Read a few books a few years ago about Anti-g research.. called "zero point" i think.
Covered a simialr vein.

Apart from that you're weird :-)

A very interesting book worth reading is called "Skunkworks", which is where they developed the Blackbird, the U2, and the Stealth Bomber.

The SR71 was actually called the RS71, but the President of the United States anounced it to the world, he called it the "SR71", rather than tell him he had F****d up, they re-done all the plans and renamed it the SR71. On missions, when the crew detected the launch of a SAM, no problems, full ahead both, and they used to outrun the buggers much to the disgust of the Ruskies.

I missed the programme, however bearing in mind that when the war ended, the allies found evidence of the Germans making a neuclear bomb, and mines that worked on cosmic radiation, god knows what else they may have been up to unbeknown to us.

BAE have had anti G labs for at least 5 years. Rumours of electrostatics being used to affect gravity on B2's wings as well... complete hokum but fun

The trouble with these types of discussion is they get sidetracked by x file type loonies and religeous muppets.

Look at it from another perspective. We have sent out many spacecraft / probes to check out other planets and generally take photos etc. Some have even left the solar system already and are heading out into deep space. If someone out there on another planet sees these things they will rightly conclude they are ufo's (to them) and they we sent by aliens (us).

All it would take is for another more advanced civilisations probe to crash land here (like we do elsewhere), then it will be discovered and most likely examined by the military. It seems pretty logical to assume they would try and copy any better technology. If it hasn't happened yet, it will do in the future.

The BAE anti gravity environment involves a regular huge plane nosediving towards the earth for two minutes. The passengers inside then feel zero g. No x-files bull crap required to explain it.

An excellent 2 hour program.

An eye opener for sure but I can't help thinking that half of the Americans that were interviewed were not speaking the whole truth. Don't know why but I just got that impression.

Its just another angle to look at the UFO phenomenon but as with most angles, there's no real 'hard' evidence.

Fascinating subject.

The theories of Aurora and other black planes can be given weight when we realise that the U2 was initially developed in the late '50s, and teh SR71 Blackbird in the '60s, the stealth planes in the '80s....we are now in the next century...what are they playing with today???? Probably something we can't even get our heads around! Captain Kirk come in please!!!

NASA BPP is real enough, albeit not heavily funded. Parabolic trajectories (The vomit comet) have been used to train people in micro gravity for a long time, but have absolutely nothing to do with anti-gravity, which by its very nature is going to be pretty 'out there' since Gravity is very far from being thoroughly understood at this time.
