Any issue with taking power from here for a light?
Discussion
Nothing particularly wrong, as long as it's obvious. Light in the cupboard?
Only thing you might need to be wary of is circuit protection - you don't really want a 6A rated cable directly hanging off a circuit with a significantly higher rated protection on it like a 15A fuse, 16A breaker or whatever is on that one.

TY. I was thinking of using 1.5mm cable from that existing switch to a new 3Amp FCU that would have a low power LED light with movement sensor that comes on automatically when someone comes into the cupboard.Only thing you might need to be wary of is circuit protection - you don't really want a 6A rated cable directly hanging off a circuit with a significantly higher rated protection on it like a 15A fuse, 16A breaker or whatever is on that one.

I d just go rechargeable, for example:

good ideahttps://amzn.eu/d/06x2Itkh
i would then swap the switch for a socket and wire a charger into the light so no need to recharge it

Good idea re a socket which I've ummed and arred about. Decided it would need an extra box instead of just an FCU so have stuck with an FCU only.i would then swap the switch for a socket and wire a charger into the light so no need to recharge it
Also because the cupboard is warm I decided a PIR light would be unreliable so have gone for a door switch like this instead -

So FCU > Door switch > Led light
