98 CLK 230 Kompressor
Discussion
Another ‘not needed at all’ purchase.
I have a perfectly good daily, an Alfa 156 under restoration ( must update that one) a bus pass and a Ducati.
This was local, good mot history, ok mileage and best of all… Wife in Italy.
Price agreed, paid, insured for an hour, drove home with seller following in my car, took him home and went to play with the new toy.
Brakes were not great, suppose it’s 28 though, LoL.
New front brake set ordered.
And a heater resistor.
I love it/her.
I may be in for pain and pleasure, reminds me of a few of my Alfa’s.
Interior is much cleaner now, swapping insurance on the 1st, fuel up then the on road fun begins.

Very nice. If I can offer some advice, check the state of the hydraulic fluid for the roof mechanism. It gets clogged up with debris from the seals in the various struts.
I use a vacuum pump (the one you'd use to change the engine oil) to suck the fluid from the reservoir, refill it and cycle the roof a few times. It took 3 go's to get all the crap out the last time I did mine.

Very smart! When the coupe came out the woman I was in a relationship with at the time liked the look of them when we saw one while on holiday in Italy. That would've been about the time the the 156 came out.
I couldn't remember if the convertible came out at the same time as the coupe but the S reg. suggests they did.
