PSM and throttle response

Another "is it just me" question possibly...

I turned the PSM off the other day in the wet for a bit of hoonage. Nothing too unusual in that, but I noticed that the car seems more responsive to the throttle (It's a tip). Has anyone else noticed this, or it it just my imagination?

A lot of Cayenne owners drive with PSM off to try and get around the infamous 'hesitation' issue. it is much more responsive and holds the revs higher.

Never noticed a change in throttle response myself - although I suppose its possible since there must be a tiny delay in actuation whilst the software looks at sensor data and decides if it should do what you are asking...

I'd be gobsmacked if it was actually a long enough delay to be noticeable to a human driver though...

Next trackday I'll try some switching on and off.

The car slides more readily with it off, of course!

The difference is very small, but I think it's there. I'm incredibly mechanically sensitive having been an engineer for years. It's actually really annoying, I can detect even the most fractional noise

It just feels like the throttle response is fractionally better in this case.

I'm a guitarist. When I play one of those synth guitar things I can always feel that the synth is just fractionally behind me...I know the response time is now measured in milliseconds and a human really shouldn't be able to tell but I can.

Must be like that for you, I suppose...

Aside from throttle response - which is sharper, car always moves of in 1st gear, holds the gears longer (at least on an S it does.

I know what you mean. I do quite a bit of typing and I can feel the delay between me pressing the keys and the letters appearing on the screen.
