What to do with a slightly rotten "log cabin" (shed)
Discussion
Built by the previous owners with decking attached to the front, where the decking frame was screwed to the shed frame its caused wet rot in the 2x4. This has also affected the bottom row of the walls. The far corner is also rotten causing the side wall to bow out.
I replaced a section of the frame few years ago by jacking up that corner and replacing a section, but this has failed.
Because the decking frame was attached to plastic posts in the ground the only way to remove the deck frame away from the shed was to remove all the decking boards. ugh.
My crazy thought was to fix the frame replacing with new 2x4 then build a frame inside to support the roof, then remove the side and front walls, leaving the little side shed bit intact, thus forming an open area under the roof on the right, keeping the little shed bit on the left.
The shed as-is isnt used as its too hot with even the slightest bit of sun on it, its just full of junk that wont fit in house.
I got chatgpt to knock up my vision
However I would leave the back wall present as there isnt a nice hedge as its added in, just some compost bins and the fence to next door.

I'm not spending £5k++ to store junk in
I think this originally cost something stupid like £14,000 including assembly and the decking! I have the invoice somewhere..
It's about 2m from the neighbours, even if I offered them some marshmallows on sticks, I dont think they would appreciate a conflagration so close to them
It will give me a lot of kindling though, probably a lifetimes worth

There was a similar thread a few years ago that involved accelerants and fire...
I remember it well - IIRC he wanted to salvage the vice, so burned the shed to the ground and picked the vice out of the ashes when cool
Thats not how you pull a shed down... (pics) - Page 1 - Homes, Gardens and DIY - PistonHeads UK https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
