Flippable number plates on motorbikes
Discussion
Maybe I've been living under a rock and this is more common than I realise.
I was driving through a 50mph limit when a bike came flying past me just as it reached the first speed camera. Once he'd overtaken me, he casually reached behind him and flipped his number plate horizontally so it couldn't be read.
I'd never seen or even heard of anyone doing that before. I'd imagine if he ever got caught, the consequences would be pretty severe.

It's been a thing for at least the past 20 years of me riding, but I'd say that most don't do it.
Even for the law breakers, it's easier just to slow down for cameras.
For the committed law breakers, a fake plate or no plate is the "better" choice.
Speeding through average speed zones is just stupid too. I would always stick to those even if they were only forward facing. You stick out like a sore thumb if everyone is doing 50 and you fly past at 90.

t load of them flew past me on a variable speed section of the M4 the other week, 40-60 limits, comfortably 30-40mph faster.
