Zenvo preps production-ready Aurora for FOS

A trio of Danish V12 hypercars will attend Goodwood this weekend - you probably won't miss them

If it feels like you’ve been dimly aware of the Zenvo Aurora for a while now, that’s because you have. The firm revealed a working prototype at FOS last year, and it was talking about the hypercar long before that. But we’ve allowed mention of it to leak back into your news feed because no matter the seemingly glacial rate of its development, the Aurora is well worth keeping an eye on - and that’s because it’s powered by a 6.6-litre quad turbocharged V12 co-developed with Mahle. Which, assuming it outputs the 1,250hp targeted, ought to qualify it as the most powerful V12 ever fitted to a road car.

That piqued our interest back in 2023 when the car was announced, and it's likely to go on piquing it all the way to actual production, a milestone that Zenvo says might kick off in time for first deliveries to begin next summer, all being well (so no prizes for guessing what it’ll be bringing along to FOS in 2027). At any rate, this year we get to see two validation prototypes of the Tur variant, which effectively show us what the customer cars will look like both inside and out. Which is pleasing because it seems the promise of last year’s test mule has been carried through to the showroom.

No mean feat in a car that Zenvo says a) developed from the ground up on an entirely bespoke platform, b) features a V12 that revs to 9,800rpm, and c) finds space for tri-motor hybrid system that sees the Aurora’s ultimate output rise to 1,850hp. Or that’s the headline plan anyway; it seems like the Tur, a ‘more classically-inspired grand touring design’ might end up with a bit less than the ‘track-focused’ Agil model. The latter will attend FOS too in show car format.

“We have always described Aurora as an equilibrium of extremes,” said Jens Sverdrup, Executive Chairman of Zenvo. “It brings together power, lightness, technical ambition, emotion, and accessibility in a way that feels true to our Scandinavian roots. To see Aurora come to life, just as our customers will see them next year, is a very special moment, and a chance for people to hear, see, and feel how far Aurora has come.” We don’t need telling twice, Jens - much as it was last year, the limited edition Danish V12 mentalist is definitely worth keeping an eye (and ear) out for come the weekend.

The doors look absolutely massive.

I wonder what that's going to be like to drive. Looks pretty nice too.

Struggle to see them selling anymore than a handful, they may say 100 cars in total but by all accounts they have only sold around 25 cars in 19 years

With so many other choices available why would you pick this

Rather generic. Hints of MC20, Valhalla etc.

for a small country whose previous contribution to the automotive industry was a mildly popular motorcycle (in Denmark, the fact that Zenvo exists and it producing cars like this is quite something. Perhaps not in yellow but...

Will the track version still have the wobbly wing that looks likes it's about to fall off?

That's an awful lot of bespoke engineering for a very small company with very limited resources. Wish them and any potential buyers well but with the honourable exception of Koenigsegg ( and there are rumours of reliability issues with their cars ) this is not a formula which usually works out well.....

With all the black bits, there's something of the McLaren Sports Series about it.

Well I would have already bought one if that was her name. Wouldn't I.

Feel like that was the only wrong choice of colour for the launch - looks too similar to a W1.

It'll be an "I also have" car, to go alongside the others, rather than a "this instead of that" car....

Lets paint the car a crazy colour so our car really stands out.

What colour should we go for?

Mclaren orange.
