Probably not the most exciting topic on PH, but I am having some new garage doors made, using a metal framework. I will then need to add a skin to them but don't really want to use wood, unless I absolutely have to, for maintenance reasons. Is there anything that looks good but isn't ruinous in price?

We had a Hormann electric sliding door fitted at our last house when we built it.

Was great. Survived all sorts of use and took little space.

For various reasons sadly I am unable to fit a standard garage door, hence the need for custom made twin doors. Thanks for the suggestion though.

would a normal garage door supplier not be able to make a custom door to order? worth a phone call surely.

I have gone down this route but the issue I have is that I store some of my business equipment in the garage in question and there is literally 15mm clearance needed from the top of the machines to the top of the door and no supplier I contacted could work to this tolerance. I also want to make a small slot at the top of the door to allow the Swallows to come back annually to nest, again this was a stumbling block.
