dont read this unless your tuscan is an S

got a "standard" tuscan 2 as a courtesy whilst my 2S is in for a bit of work.
Interesting to be able to compare the 2 back to back.
it feels very different to drive but I understand they all have their own character.
it is however noticably slower than the S....
told you not to read it unless you have a S :p

Interestingly I was being followed recently by a new Tuscan S. Got to a long slip road onto a motorway. I booted it, he booted it. The gap never closed. (The driver confirmed afterwards that he had given it the full bananas). But then I believe that my new 3.6 tuscan is quicker than my old 4.0. I think it depends on the car.
I go with what unrepentant says, from the dyno reports that have been posted for the SP6 seems to be +/- 10% from what is quoted anyway.
A well tuned standard Tusc I would bet would be just as quick as an 'S' waiting for a service.
Just to justify my presence here, my Tusc was a 2000, and at that time they were all called S. Or so my V5 said anyway!

I agree with Russian Rocket, I had an "s" for a year before my Cerb, had a 3.6 Tuscan 2 for a week as a loan car and I have to say the "s" would have murdered it. The dyno figures may be similar but the close ratio box makes a big difference. So much less torque from the 3.6 too, but from the ones I have driven, the MKII just seems too soft compared to the original, as for the Cerb, that’s a different ballgame altogether!
I test drive a Sagaris at the weekend and was convinced that it was slower than my T350 : Which I had just driven..
The salesman (Terry) said it must need a service - hence it was slow..
Manybe it just that the 3.6 revs quicker towards 7 K and the 4.0 is a bit slower reving..
Other that that - it felt like I was driving the T350 except the Saggy brakes were not as good..

It was good to see you on Saturday and sorry about the drive only been a short one.
I am not disputing your car is fast as I cannot confirm or deny this without comparing the two back to back.
What I can confirm is the Sagaris demonstrator was way out of tune as confirmed with a drive out on Sunday.
Once it's been through the workshops for its 6000 mile service and re-tuned I'll give you a shout and you are more than welcome to come out for another (longer) drive.
