Does it look any different? I posted that link as I didn't know what price you'd been considering.Have you looked on eBay or temu for a gel seat pad that's placed on top of the existing seat?

The year 25 & 26 are exactly the same bikes , all that changed from 25 -26 were the colours , so a 26 /25 se seat will fit my bike , think I’m going to try and get a test ride on a se to see if the seat is different , if not order the 3 rd seat down , or just send the uncomfortable heap of junk back lol .Ghs said:

I meant it's difficult to tell the current generation from the generation before, the 2017 to 2024 one, though the 2020 revision was more than electronics and was the sort of thoroughness and constant improvement that impresses me.I was allowed out on a KTM Duke 990R a couple of weeks ago and one thing that struck was how well it 'fitted' me. It's made me think about ergonomics and how much a higher seat would make to my bike. A colleague has previously suggested a strap on gel pad or something to mine may reduce hip cramps.

I’ve learnt that , sitting on a bike in a shop is different to 50 miles on the road , won’t make that mistake again , how did you get on with the ktm , look a nice bike .
Hopefully that'll work. Just over £100 is far more palatable. Regarding my concerns about whether they fitted the previous gen. Your bike and the image of the one you've ordered show boltheads on each side where as the previous image doesn't have them which made me think perhaps that one was for the previous gen. Perhaps the boltheads are for the rear seat cover or something?
O/T - I didn't stretch the Duke 990R. Feel wise it felt planted like my SV650 where as the Duke 790 reminds me of a pre-LC RD250 size wise. The Duke 790 felt like a Duke 390 in terms of flickability and responsiveness. On the return ride I noticed the water temp symbol on the dash went out I guess once the coolant had reached temperature. I didn't read the manual but I pressed what I thought was the cruise control button on the left hand bar and that didn't seem to maintain speed when I eased off the throttle. That was probably operator error. I should have asked to borrow the 390 SMCR super moto type bike. I am a sucker for white and orange. For low speed u-turn type stuff the 990R seemed much the same as the SV650 and mine has the throttle assist anti-stall feature. I am not a riding god but the bike didn't embarass me or create any issues. Pilot Cup tyres made me glad we were in a heatwave, the tread didn't look year round suitable. Me on a 990R is very much 'all the gear and no idea'.

I had to read the manual to get the cruise to work on z900 , seems opposite way round to what I think it should be , but then I’ve never used one on a motorbike before so could be just how they are .O/T - I didn't stretch the Duke 990R. At least you enjoyed yourself , and I agree I like bright colours , the ktm orange is lovely
