V60 T6 Recharge
Discussion
Hi all,
Got on to look at this kind of by accident when looking at other estates. Was hoping to get answers to a few questions from any owners on here!
Am I right in saying that a 2022 car is turbo charged and NOT twin charged? Some conflicting info on the web.
What's the economy like when not using the "plug in" part of the hybrid system. We don't have off street parking and we can't always guarantee that we would be able to charge the thing up. When we do, it would be with a 3 pin plug and "topped up" as the cost of installing an electric charger for the sake of charging a little 18.8kwh battery would take eons to pay itself back. The plan is essentially to charge it if convenient, but not worry too much if its not.
Related question - does the car drop power when the battery is 100% depleted? My gut feeling is not, as on the test drive the car had 0 miles of electric range but still went like a stabbed rat when I went down a slip road, but I know some hybrid systems do drop off in power and some dont? Apologies if I am displaying some ignorance there!
Any other ownership advice / anecdotes would be great. What are they like maintenance / service wise for example?
TIA!

I havea 2020 T8 PE so not same power output from the ICE so not particularly helpful. ICE only I'll get 35mpg. Electric only range about 26 miles. The battery always has some in reserve for full power or AWD if you need to call on it. Driving around in Polestar (or sport) tends to charge the battery on regen anyway so you'll find a couple of electric miles available.

Thanks, that’s helpful. If the T8 can average 35mpg on ICE than it’s fairly safe to assume that the T6 should be between 35 and 40, which is totally palatable! If you’d said mid twenties or something I’d have been a little more concerned. Good to know full power is always available too!
What’s the T8 like? Is that around 450bhp? Is it more sporting than the T6?
Thanks for the forum recommendation too, I will check that out

My T8 is 2020 so pre-update so only the 11kwh battery, and 405hp with the Polestar work. Advantage is it was pre speed limiter (112mph) and has the paddle shift. Not many T8s about is an issue.
The R design have sportier suspension but it's not a sporty car by any stretch, far less dynamic than my previous Audi S4 Avant. It's very rapid though in a very understated undramatic way. The package suits me being able to go from EV only city driving to making good progress home on dual carriageway and country A roads. Definitely drive them to get a feel. What car is it replacing?
