Sad times indeed, hes reasonably old but both that old!
One of the best films of my childhood.

A good actor indeed.

Loved his menacing portrayal of Major Campbell in Peaky Blinders.

I was young and impressionable but I always thought of him as his character in The Omen sequel.

Sad news. He had been battling cancer but was meant to be on the mend.

You were pretty sure it'd be a good film or TV series if he was in it.

RiP.

Agreed, you would be sure the film would be good if Sam Neil was in it.

Which reminds me, I'm due to watch Until the End of the World (the long version) again at some point, a film that gets watched once a decade. cool

The one with Nicole Kidman on the boat one of my favourites.

Anyone know what happened, news just says "sudden"?

Dead Calm - a good film that was originally a Hitchcock project waaay back.

Very sad. Same age as my parents frown

Such a great actor, and so versatile. I must have been late teens when Event Horizon was the only film I couldn't continue watching because I was so scared, and it took me 2 or 3 attempts.

And JP must've been his standout film.

It's a shame so many people have never watched the 1983 TV min-series 'Reilly ace of Spies'.

Same Neill was excellent in the lead role and it's a great bit of TV too. smile Recommended!!

I think the last film I saw him in was the Hunt for the Wilderpeople. He was excellent as was the young co-star, recommended 7.7/10

Excellent film somewhat spoilt by the Blues Brothersesque ending... sad day right enough.

His (and Laura Dern's) acting in Jurassic park was woeful (I suspect it was poor direction),

but Dead Calm was not too bad.
